The Queen’s Croquet

Queen’s Croquet, Electric Picnic, Stradbally, 4-5 September 2009.

A collaborative piece made by Veronica Forsgren and Jean Doyle which was performed 2 hours daily in the Body and Soul Area at the Electric Picnic. The work is a participatory nonsensical interactive play based on the chapter ‘The Queen’s Croquet’ from ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ by Lewis Carroll. Passers by were invited to take part in the game, which encouraged confrontation, competitiveness and playfulness. Everyone that participated received a surprise inside a chopped off head, that is if they managed to stay alive...
